Harper Pass Route = enjoy soaking primitive hot spa!
This long journey is not too hard, but wet condition makes that difficult and dangerous, especially part of Otehake River.

There are The Otehake Hot Springs in the small island on Otehake River. Small forest is in the island and that's good camp site. Large hot pool may be formed at right side riverbed. Unfortunately after heavy rain, you have to dig own.
On the Harper Pass Route there is another hot pool named The Hurunui Hot Springs. It's possible to soak in all weather.
